Typically, having rejoiced at my saving of £70 per year the Institute within a couple of months decided to send the magazine to members "free of charge", which means I'm still paying for it but worse than that am still receiving it!!

I really like the magazine the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants puts out, called CAMagazine. On the other hand, the quarterly I get from the provincial (Ontario) Institute, called CheckMark, is horrible. So it's really a mixed bag.

I would tend to agree. I like Accountancy Age as it tends to be based around highly topical content. Increasingly, I'm finding I'm reading internet content more than paper content. There are some publishers that put some excellent content on the web (such as BusinessWeek). It's open access (I hate logins) and easy to find.
